The exhibition displays about 60 of batik cloth from various regions in Indonesia, such as Solo, Cirebon, Pontianak, and others. In this exhibition, Wastaprema Association in collaboration with the Textile Museum, Jakarta. Both institutions are presenting the cultural heritage of art in the form of fabric exhibition, fashion show, demonstrations of batik canting, to dance that tells the process of making batik.
Head of Jakarta Textile Museum, Indra Riawan, said he wanted to show that batik fabric not just by its beauty.

Claire Wolfowitz, wife of former U.S. Ambassador to Indonesia, Paul Wolfowitz, had attended the launch of the exhibition. Indonesian Batik Exhibition: World Heritage in the Embassy in Washington, DC, will run until July 16, 2011.
