Pakistan has inaugurated its first female foreign minister ahead of a series of high level diplomatic meetings this month.
Hina Rabbani Khar, a 34-year-old was sworn in Tuesday as the youngest foreign minister in Pakistan's history.
Former deputy foreign minister's office occupy the vacant since February when his predecessor Shah Mahmood Qureshi, dismissed because of disagreement with the ruling party.
Khar end of this week is scheduled to meet with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in the ASEAN regional meeting in Bali. While there he will also meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi.
Later this month he will meet with Indian Foreign Minister SM Krishna as the two countries are competing hard to continue the peace process.
Dialogue between the two nuclear-armed neighbors was discontinued after the 2008 terrorist attacks in the commercial hub of India, Mumbai, which India says carried out by militants based in Pakistan.
