Washington - The Internet is an important news source in America, surpassing newspapers. Thus the results of the Pew Research Center study, as reported in de Volkskrant of ANP today (25/12/2008).

40% of respondents selected the internet as an important source of news, whereas five years ago only 20%. While 35% of respondents chose the newspaper or shrunk 15% over 5 years ago which reached 50%.

Television remains a source of important news, but its popularity has declined sharply in the age of 30 years and under. As many as 70% of respondents still call it a glass screen as a source of important national and international news. (es / es)
